Michael Schumacher World Champion Tower
Seven Towers for Seven World Champion Titles

Michael Schumacher is immortal. Not only because of his success as a race car driver, but also because of the many projects that bear his name. In Schumacher’s hometown Kerpen a street is named after him and in Dubai there will be a skyscraper bearing his name. The first “Michael Schumacher World Champion Tower” (MSWCT) was launched during the Cityscape real estate exhibition in Dubai by Marasi Real Estate Fund in collaboration with Deyaar Development PJSC. The first of seven towers which will be built around the world is going to rise up in the UAE capital. Each tower will represent one of the seven world championship titles Schumacher has earned in his Formula 1 career.

The Abu Dhabi tower will be 240 meters tall with sixty floors and will contain 400 apartments as well as have its own yacht harbor that can house 30 boats. These are just a few of the design parameters of this tower with its spectacular location in the Central Business District of Reem Island. The building, designed by Marasi and PNYG:COMPANY is said to become an architectural landmark. It will reflect the attributes that made Schumacher so successful in his sport, i.e. perfection and the most modern technology.

The tower, rising from the ocean, is the first with its own yacht harbor. Michael Kutschenreuter (CEO of Marasi) said, “Marasi has specialized in projects which allow people to live in close proximity of their yachts.”  The MSCWT, with its combination of luxurious living space and harbor, was designed to become one of the most popular living accommodations in the world.

The building was developed by PNYG:LAVA, the architectural division of PNYG:COMPANY. PNYG has exclusive rights to the luxury real estate bearing the brand name “Michael Schumacher”. In charge are Chris Bosse and Tobias Walliser who are both well known for their innovative and natural designs. The Aquatic Centre for the Olympic Games in China and the Daimler Benz Museum in Stuttgart are some of their projects.

The architects find it important that buildings which are named after a person should reflect its identity. “Such a building has to be more emotional. One has to be able to literally feel the personality of the building”, said the architects. Aside from the aforementioned qualities, the building also has to meet the highest standards in ecology. The architects are not ready to reveal any special features or materials used. They only reveal that the tower’s architecture is inspired by the geometric structure of a snowflake and the dynamics of a race car. “It is our goal to combine speed, technology and natural growth structure in our tower.” DEYAAR is responsible for the sale of MSWCT. Markus Giebel, CEO of DEYAAR, said “We are excited to be part of this project. The MSWCT is a unique tower.”

Marasi will implement the most advanced technology to assure that no damage is done to the environment and to keep CO2 emissions at a minimum. This includes photo-voltaic facilities, a water treatment facility as well as cogeneration.
