From Paris to Abu Dhabi
artparis returns to the UAE Capital

For the second time since its founding in 1999 in France, the art exhibition artparis comes to Abu Dhabi. More than 3,300 pieces of various art categories will be exhibited at the Emirates Palace. The show runs from November 17th through 21st.

Fifty-eight galleries from twenty-two countries will be a part of artparis in the desert metropolis, which is a forty percent increase over the previous year. Among the artworks are pieces by well known artists like Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Bernard Frize. Even the outdoor areas of the Emirates Palace will be used to display sculptures by various artists. Among those is “Caterpillar#5” by Wim Delvoye from Belgium.

New this year is an area for young talents which houses works from eight galleries by eight young artists from eight countries allowing them to demonstrate their talents. The exhibition will be opened by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (ADACH) will also be involved in this project. ADACH wants to use the partnership with artparis as a cornerstone for a modern art exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Events like artparis are just an idea of what art connoisseurs can expect when the planned museums like the Guggenheim and the Louvre will open in Abu Dhabi.
